Introduction of Titanium Alloy

Titanium alloys can be classified into three types according to their phase composition: alpha alloys, (alpha+beta) alloys and beta alloys. China is represented by TA, TC and TB, respectively.
1. Alpha alloys contain a certain amount of stable alpha phase elements, which are mainly composed of alpha phase in equilibrium state. Alpha alloys have low specific gravity, good thermal strength, good weldability and excellent corrosion resistance. The disadvantage is low room temperature strength. Alpha alloys are usually used as heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. Alpha alloys can also be divided into total alpha alloys (TA7), near alpha alloys (Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V) and alpha alloys (Ti-2.5Cu) with a small amount of compounds.
2. (a + beta) alloys contain a certain amount of elements of stable alpha and beta phases, and the structure of alloys in equilibrium state is alpha and beta phases. (a + beta) alloy has medium strength and can be strengthened by heat treatment, but its weldability is poor. (a+beta) alloys are widely used, and the output of Ti-6Al-4V alloys accounts for more than half of all titanium materials.
3. The beta alloy contains a large number of stable beta phase elements, which can retain all high temperature beta phase to room temperature. Beta alloys can also be divided into heat-treated beta alloys (metastable beta alloys and near metastable beta alloys) and heat-stabilized beta alloys. The heat-treated beta alloy has excellent plasticity in quenched state, and its tensile strength can reach 130-140 kgf/mm2 by aging treatment. Beta alloys are usually used as high strength and high toughness materials. The disadvantage is that it is of great proportion, high cost, poor welding performance and difficult cutting.
